Wakely Dam (Finish)
Set your odometer to zero in the town of Indian Lake at the intersection of Rt. 28 and Rt. 30. At 2 miles you'll cross the bridge over the Cedar River. Take a left at the triangle and to County Road 12 (see map inset below). This winding road turns into the dirt Cedar River Road . It gets pretty rough and in times of wet weather could get a little muddy. But even on our worse rainy day the dirt road was passable even with a small sedan. If in doubt, call the local Ranger - they are always very helpful and will gladly share their knowledge of the area, road and trail conditions.
Piseco (Start)
From Rt. 8 you'll see signs for Piseco and the Piseco Airport. Turn onto County Road 24 (not noticeably marked) for 2.3 miles. After you pass the airport on your right, your next right will be Haskells Road. Take Haskells Road for 1.6 miles until you approach the small bridge over Cold Stream. Parking is on the right just before the bridge. Do not cross the bridge or you'll be on private property. Home owners there will most likely be sleeping at that hour in the morning so please respect their rights. Registration will take place at the parking area. The run begins a short walk up the trail at the DEC Registration box.
