Certain Adirondack organizations have many members and a large budgets.  They support many positive things to protect the Adirondack Park.  But the extremist element in the leadership of some groups have gone too far with their opposition to runners in the Wilderness.  It's hard to believe these groups have any connection to Lalla, but the selfish rhetoric they spew is poison to the very nature of the wilderness they purport to be protecting.

Could this maniacal loner been fueled to vanquish the demon runners from his private wilderness by the ranting of the organized extremists and their big city lawyers (along with the solitude, swamp gas, sunflower seeds, and rum)?  Or was this just a random act of violence?  We may never know.

But one thing is certain... Had this nut job chosen his meat cleaver over his big stick, we may have had a much more serious situation to deal with.  But it will take a lot more than some fat cat lawyer and a crazed mad man with a stick to keep this runner off of the trails.  The Wilderness is not the private playground for a few extremists that want to be left alone in the woods.

Victory is ours and so are the trails.  Keep on running people.
